Madison Mayor Paul Soglin is working with members of the Madison Metropolitan School District Board of Education to help solve the homelessness problem in the city.
Soglin is looking at ways to fix the problem of homeless children in the city's schools.
"There's over 900 kids in our school district homeless, and we know that a homeless kid has an incredibly difficult time learning," Soglin said.
He said more than 50 percent of homeless students have been living outside of Madison in the past three years.
The mayor said he hopes to have a model of what strategies to use by the end of summer.
